Miriam Gahathia, daughter of Eliezer Alexander, was born on Sunday, April 22nd, 1919, and came to Israel in 1935. In 1942, she joined the Lehi underground with her husband, Mattityahu Gahathia, at a base for communications training and hiding fighters. She received the Lehi badge. She was one of the leaders of Bnei Brit, president of the Henrietta Szold Institute and she founded the Gimlaim (Pensioners’) Party in 1977. Miriam died on September 12th, 1990, and was laid to rest in Kiryat Shaul Cemetery in Tel Aviv.
