Ya’akov Polani, son of Leah and Shmaryahu Poleski, was born in 1917 and immigrated to Israel in 1923. In 1945 he joined the Lehi underground in the Transportation Division and served as a driver under the command of Ya’akov Banai “Mazal” and Dov. In March 1948 he was sent to Czechoslovakia, where he operated until June 1948 under Yehuda Gur “Boaz” and Danny. He received the Lehi badge. Ya’akov died on November 13th, 1997 and was laid to rest in the Yarkon Cemetery.
