NAME: Ben Gama (Moldovan) Ezra

Ezra ben Gamma was born to Moshe Yitzhak and Riza Gitel Moldovan in Kossi, Karpathoros, Czechoslovakia. In 1930, the family moved to Bergasas. The father worked in a large trading company and the mother was a housewife and raised ten children, nine sons and one daughter. They made aliya in 1938. His parents, three brothers, Shalom, Haim Meir, David, and his sister Atel perished in the Holocaust. Ezra joined the Lehi underground in August 1940 and was an active member until the declaration of independence. He operated in the Intelligence Division. His brother, Eliyahu Meidan (Moldovan), was also a member of Lehi. He enlisted in the IDF with most Lehi members in the general enlistment on May 29th, 1948 and joined the 8th Brigade. He received the State Warriors badge.
