Amos Shefi, son of Yitzhak Shaposhnik, was born in Tel Aviv November 17th, 1933. As a young boy, in 1947 he joined the Lehi resistance, even though his father was a member of the Haganah. In their home was a weapons stash for the Hagana. In the Youth Division, he participated in hanging posters under David’s command. Throughout his life, Amos was married twice and from his two wives, he had two sons, Yakir and Noam, and a daughter, Anat. For the last 13 years of his life, he lived with his partner Ruthie in Petah Tikva, he did art and sculpted stainless steel sculptures.
Amos died after a short battle with cancer on August 21st, 2019, at the age of 86. Amos was laid to rest in the Lehi section at the Sgula Cemetery in Petah Tikva.
