Yitzhak Keren, son of Ettel and Arieh Liev Halevi was born on 16th November, 1927, and made aliya in 1936. At the end of 1944, he joined the Lehi in the Operations department of the 6th Division in Tel Aviv. He participated in hanging posters, surveillance and sabotage of snipers. Among his commanders were Emmanuel Hanegbi “Adam”, Shimon Mazali “Gad” and Avner Groshov “Yoav”. After the declaration of independence of Israel, he enlisted in the IDF together with the general Lehi enlistment and joined the 8th Brigade. Yitzhak died on Monday, October 20th, 2011, and was laid to rest in Kiryat Shaul Cemetery in Tel Aviv. His tombstone was marked with the words: “Lover of the Land and Freedom Fighter for Israel”
