Yaakov Kelmer, son of Tova and Moshe, was born on July 13^th, 1931. His father Moshe was a member of the Knesset. In January 1947 he joined the Lehi underground in Tel Aviv, under the command of Herzel Amikam. He enlisted in the IDF with most Lehi members on May 29^th, 1948.
