David Haas son of Sara and Moshe was born on July 6th, 1931 in Jaroslav, Poland. David has a twin. His father was a well-known prayer leader in his hometown. He made aliya to Israel in 1947, through Siberia and camps in Cyprus.
He joined the Lehi Underground in 1947 as a fighter in the Religious Division in Jerusalem under Meir’s command and participated in battles in the city. Due to his singing talent, he was invited by Geula Cohen “Ilana” to sing a song live.
He joined the IDF during the War of Independence.
Married Judith Klopper. The couple havda daughter, Gizzi, and a son, Moshe.
David received musical training and served as a cantor and music teacher.
He received the Lehi badge and the State Warriors badge.
David died on August 15th, 2020.
