Avraham Cohen was born in Zichron Ya’akov on April 5^th, 1930, second generation to the founders from 1882. He attended elementary school in Zichron Ya’akov. In 1944, at the age of 14, he joined the Lehi and remained an active member until 1948. As part of his underground activities, he put up posters, kept guard at nights in the hills around the village, distributed leaflets in cinemas, delivered messages, participated in sabotage of railways and phone cables and conducted surveillance. His commanders were Zalman Samsonov and Yafin Shlomo.

In 1946, at the age of 16, he was captured by the British and transferred to Latrun after assisting immigrants who arrived at the beach. He remained in custody for two weeks. After the declaration of independence, he worked in commerce, he had a store for stationery, books and toys. He married Ze’eva and they had three daughters, Liat, Efrat and Einav.

He was known as a kind, loyal, honest and humble man, who helped many people from all walks of life. Avraham Cohen died on  March 14^th, 2009.
