David Boni son of Shima and Zadok was born in 1930. He joined the Lehi underground in 1945. David participated in the training course in Ra’anana together with the children who were murdered. Towards the weekend he left the course to visit a sick aunt and when he wanted to return, he was told there was nowhere to return to because of the murder. After that, David hung posters in Haifa. Someone alerted the British to this and the speeding escape vehicle ran over his foot. Fellow Lehi members hid him in a nearby packaging factory. By the time the doctor arrived, necrosis had spread to his toes and they had to be amputated. On May 29th, 1948, he enlisted with most Lehi members in the IDF, the 8th Brigade. After his enlistment, he participated in the battle at Beit Guvrin, where he was injured in the ear. He did not hear the orders to withdraw and was left alone. He received the Lehi badge and the State Warriors badge. David died on Wednesday, August 5th 2008, and was laid to rest in the Segula Cemetery in Petah Tikva.
