Yaacov Blumenthal was born in 1929.
In 1946 he joined the Youth Unit in Jerusalem and worked in the religious squad as class supervisor and soldier under the command of Yehuda (Feder) Bar Giora “Giora”.
In 1952, he was arrested as a member of “Malchut Israel” (Tzrifin) underground, who placed a bomb in the Soviet Union’s embassy, in response to the Doctors’ plot. He was sentenced, with the other members, to 10 years in prison, but was released two years later as part of a general pardon.
He received the State Warriors badge.
