Nissim Anavi, son of Rivka and Shmuel, was born in Bulgaria on October 19^th, 1927, and made Aliya to Israel on October 1944. Nissim joined the Information Division of Lehi in 1945 under the command of Yehuda Bar Giora “Giora”. In February 1946, he was arrested for possession of a firearm. He was tried and sentenced in June 1946 to 4 years in prison. He was held in the central prison in Jerusalem and in the Atlit detention camp. While in the central prison in Jerusalem, he assisted in the escape of Anshel Spielman. After his release, he enlisted in the IDF with most Lehi members on 29^th of May, 1948 and joined the 8^th Brigade, 89^th Battalion.

Nissim married Yemina Anavi. The couple had three daughters and grandchildren. Nissim died on November 12^th, 2006 and was laid to rest in Morasha Cemetery in Ramat Hasharon.
