Shaul was born in Tel-Aviv on August 4, 1929 to Yoseph and Estheriya, who immigrated turn of the century from Bulgaria. His brother was playwright    Nissim Aloni. Shaul studied at  ‘Echad-Ha’am’ elementary school and  ‘Geula’ High-School. At age 13 he joined ‘Maccabi-Tsa’ir’ and underwent a leaders’ training course. His Maccabi instructor Pinchas Ginosar, recruited him to Lehi 1943. He  integrated in multiple areas of  underground activity; the youth department and its actions,  Department Six (Intelligence), and instruction – in charge of a light-weapons training course in Petah-Tikva. With the establishment of the State he joined the IDF with his friends from Lehi, end May 1948, serving in the 82nd Battalion. Towards discharge, he became an instructor at the Armoured Corps School, at Lod Airport. In 1953 he married his Lehi girlfriend Yael Vardi, and they had two children: Daphne and Boaz, who died during  military service in 1979. His wife Yael passed away following a long illness in 1967. In 1969  he re-married and had two children, Sharon and Ilam. From his daughter Daphne he has two grandchildren, and one from daughter  Sharon. Between 1950-1954 he studied at  Hebrew University Jerusalem Law School. Completing studies and internship he became an attorney-of-law 1956, later opening his own law firm. He was appointed legal counsellor of the Water High-Commission 1967, magistrate court judge 1971 and District Court Judge 1981. Between 1989-1990 he  served temporarily as a Supreme Court judge. Retiring in May1991, he  became an associate in a law firm. Many years, he lectured in several educational institutions. He’s active in the field of sport judiciary institutions, member of the presidency of the  Football Association’s Supreme Court,   the Basketball Association’s  Supreme Court,  president of the Sport Association’s Supreme Court and president of the Olympic Committee’s  Court. He’s  a member of the International Court of Sport, Lausanne Switzerland.  Shaul  chaired  various parliamentary committees :  for Surrogate-Mothers, Education, Amendment of Attorney’s Ethics Law,  and others. He wrote news-columns  about legal matters for  “Ma’ariv” and “Ha’aretz” newspapers. He enjoys fishing, stamp-collecting, Judaica, literature, and football and basketball games.
