In this book, Zev Golan tells the full story of the battle between British colonial authorities and Jews that was fought alongside the Western Wall in Jerusalem: In 1929, the British imposed restrictions on Jewish worship and banned sounding shofars at the holy site. For 18 years, Jewish youths, and eventually the Irgun, defied the military and police forces aligned against them.
